What is a secret shopper?

Good customer service is vital to the success of a business. Secret shoppers are paid to act like a customer and then submit a report about their experiences.

Should you ever pay a fee to do work for a secret shopping company?

"No, you should never pay to shop (work) for a secret shopping company. Please note the difference between fees and reimbursement shops. There are jobs where you will need to make a purchase during your shop. Examples of these are gas station, restaurant or hotel shops. Most times, the secret shopping company will give you specific directions regarding these types of shops which include an amount the company will reimburse you for. If you shop a restaurant and are allotted $50 but go over this amount, unless it is specified, you will be responsible for the remaining balance."

We all know that you should never pay for a home job. However, paying for a job and paying for a helpful resource that connects you with jobs are two different things.
